This week's shoot was involving surfers. Today wasn't just the usual surf shots, it was a memorial. A long time member John (long John) Hurst of the Umina Beach Malibu Club passed away recently from a cerebral hemorrhage. He died in front of his wife and grandchildren. He was 46. Such a loss. Hug your loved ones and let them know how you feel. RIP.

I'm too fat to surf :D
Oh, what a moving ceremony! This is a wonderful shot - and a great gesture of all those surfers to do this.
Thank you for the story. This is wonderful for his friends to remember him this way.
I live on the coast, and there are a fair number of these ceremonies. Nice capture.
What a great way to memorialize a friend. The surfing lifestyle is like no other.
